  What you see above is not actually that far from what there is to come! The rapid technological development has been enormous in the last couple of years. We can almost certainly say that it will radically change our lives, hopefully for the better! One of the most important aspects that will most surely differ is the cities!!

Transportation

Aircar: The investment and creation of this infrastructure will most likely come from the huge public demand for these new cars when they release. They will also be cheaper because of the materials they are made off allowing for faster and more efficient travel, furthermore by using water as their primary resource they will contribute to stop the enduring environmental pollution. Prototypes have already been made and are tested in specific private labs. Who wouldn’t want to fly one of these beauties? 
                      

High Speed Rail Transport: High-speed rail is a type of rail transport that significantly improves the performance of the traditional rail traffic.It uses an integrated system and dedicated tracks enabling  it to even reach  500 km/h.The development of this type of train is still in testing but it is estimated to be finalized in the near future. No more stuck in the traffic excuses!!

           

                           

Gadgets

Hoverboard: A hoverboard is a fictional levitating board used for personal transportation, it was first shown and popularized by the Back to the Future film franchise. Hoverboards are generally illustrated  as a skateboard without wheels.There have been many rumors over the past years that scientists managed to make this kind of levitating device but none of them came true , that’s why we hope to see them make an appearance in our future city!! No one can deny that this is pretty awesome!

                   

Virtual reality: Virtual reality is also known as immersive multimedia, it is gadget that you wear in your head that replicates an environment and simulates your movement and actions inside of it making it interactive. Most up-to-date virtual reality machines manage to fully immerse the person that’s using it, so much that they forget they are on a virtual world. This year Oculus Rift (VR headset) launched and thousands of people gave it perfect reviews. Scientists predict that VR will dominate in the near future when it will be perfected and flawless.

Architecture

  A possible feature of the future city would be areas called “antigravity parks”. These can be associated with our well known green parks that can be seen in all big cities. Parks offer a recreational break to modern cities’ residents. This is the role antigravity parks will play in modern cities. They consist of huge domes that are enclosed and are only accessible by pipes with portals. Their unique mechanism enables them to switch on and off the gravity so that people can enjoy the advantages of floating around. These are a must for future cities as they enable the citizens to have a break off their daily routine.

Every-day life

  Peoples lives will most likely be simplified by the large number of specialized robots doing pretty much all the hard work,improving the life quality and life expectancy.After drilling out the last drop of oil, people will finally start using renewable energy sources via Solar panels and wind turbines. As with the economy, currency as we know it will stop being used but instead everything will be paid virtually, with our credit cards and e-coins.Ιn the field of health,vaccines will be created for almost all diseases ,additionally specially built robots will be able to accomplish all needs of surgery as fast as possible.Last but not least,all meals of the day will be compressed into a pill that will offer the same amount of calories and provide tastier flavor.

Education

  
  In the future city,the foundations of  education will stay more or less the same.The class will still be based on the social interaction between teachers and students.But one thing that will most likely change is the technology.Maybe tablets will be used instead of books or virtual reality headsets during the lesson to make it more interactive.Our thoughts about this subject are analyzed in the video below.
