Amfilochia

Amfilochia is a small coastal town, amphitheater built on two hills which imparts pleasant beauty.

 Until 1907 she was known as 'carvasaras' from the Turkish 'caravan-serai' which means station caravans and liberated from the Turks in 1929.In 1907 renamed Amfilochia.
The climate is humid due to geographical position.Summer however prevail mainly cool northwest winds- known as Maistros- that makes staying in amfilochia
 pleasant even during the largest heat.

In winter there is enough moisture and fog. Rare snows because the sea is near but many times the temperature reaches quite low.

Amfilochia has the following temples;

Agios Athanasios located in half of the city over the market. Is the patron saint of Amfilochia. This church was built in 1868 on the foundations of oldest temple.
Agia Paraskeui located in the other half of the city. She was built in 1968 so she's newer than Agios Athanasios.
There are other temples near to Amfilochia as;
Agios Georgios
Agia Triada
Agios Konstantinos
Zoodohos Pigi

Something special that shows Amfilochia is phosphorus in sea especially in the summer months. The sea display at certain points a weird green color and most of visiters think that is dirty.
